Patient support

Beautiful, bold, and strong project.

At Tambo Foundation, we believe in the power of dignity, confidence, and emotional healing, especially during life’s most difficult battles. As part of our commitment to supporting individuals affected by cancer, we have partnered with the NSIA-LUTH Cancer Centre, university college hospital – Ibadan, St. Cyril and renowned makeup artist Bim_Beau to launch a transformative initiative that uplifts patients from the inside out.

Through this project, we provide specially curated makeup kits to cancer patients, mastectomy bras and post – surgical bras offering them not just beauty products, but a powerful reminder of their strength, identity, and resilience. Each kit is a gesture of care, designed to help patients feel more like themselves, regardless of what they are facing physically. Around 40 to 100 kits are distributed with each visit.

This initiative goes beyond appearance. It is about restoring confidence, creating moments of joy, and letting every patient know that they are seen, valued, and celebrated. At Tambo Foundation, we are dedicated to ensuring that no one has to look like what they are going through, and that every person is empowered to face their journey with courage and grace.

  • First outreach was at the University College Hospital, Ibadan where the first BBS kits were distributed as the project kicked off.
  • Second outreach was at Nsialuth cancer center which saw the distribution of 50 BBS kits touching the lives of 50 cancer warriors.
  • February 2023, in partnership with St Cyril and Nsialuth cancer centers between the 2nd and the 10th, 100 BBS kits were distributed to cancer warriors.
  • At Nsialuth cancer center  again, 35 BBS kits were distributed to  brave cancer warriors, for the July edition of the BBS program
  •  For the September edition,  it was a collaboration with Nsialuth cancer center restoring the glow and smiles for cancer warriors by distributing BBS kits.

SCREENING CAMPAIGNS IN SOUTHWEST NIGERIA.

On Saturday, December 9, 2023, we partnered with the Ijesa North Diocese to host an impactful medical outreach focused on cervical cancer awareness in a remote region. The event aimed to educate women and girls about the importance of understanding cervical cancer, its risk factors, and the essential role of early detection.

In addition to education, the outreach provided free cervical cancer screening to participants. This is a crucial component in the fight against cervical cancer, as screening can identify early signs of abnormal cell changes, often before they develop into cancer. Early detection significantly improves the chances of successful treatment and can save lives.

This initiative was especially significant for the community, as access to healthcare services in remote areas is often limited. Through this event, we not only raised awareness but also gave participants the tools to take control of their health with vital information and accessible screening services.

We are deeply grateful for the partnership with the Ijesa North Diocese, whose support was essential in making this outreach a success. Together, we continue to improve health outcomes and empower women in underserved areas.
